mas air flow questiongotgrip61482 01-29-2007, 07:23 PM sorry this sounds really stupid but im new on the mazdas, i just got an 88 rx-7 glx and i wanna put an intake filter on it, its been to cold to go messing around under the hood lately so my question is don i need to buy a mas air flow adapter oe is it just straigt threw piping, thank you for anyone who helps me with this ghostrx7 01-30-2007, 11:17 AM you take out your existing air intake, and install the aftermarket adapter provided with the new intake.. gotgrip61482 01-31-2007, 01:28 PM well i just wanted to throw a filter on it right now dont have much money to buy an intake right now, mwolvin 01-31-2007, 02:15 PM Since cost is an issue, do this-- take the top of the stock airbox out of the car, drill holes in it, clean it, and reinstall. You will have a power gain equivelant to turning off the a/c. The car will retain the original filter, but with much improved flow. ghostrx7 02-02-2007, 08:32 AM the filter is most of the intake anyway, the only other part is the adapter.... drftk1d 02-06-2007, 08:28 PM just get any old filter and a plastic MAF adapter, drill holes in the adapter to fit the MAF.
