'96 Aurora - washer fluid loss

I have a mysterious washer fluid leak somewhere on my '96 Aurora. I have taken the reservoir out and it had no leaks. I never see any leaks on the driveway, but the fluid is 3/4 gone after 1 week. I followed the lines out of the reservoir and they appear to run over the passenger side wheel well then perhaps into the passenger compartment. Is the washer system heated? Do these line somehow run into the area around the heat exchanger in the passenger compartment, then out to the washer jets???
Thanks for the help! Tom

You looking at wrong tank =)

Main tank is located under right fender and is big.
To check it out you have to remove right mudguard held by retainers (reusable).

I have the same problem, it goes down to like 25% of capacity really quickly. I haven't taken a look though. Let me know what you find.

Wow! How big is big??? Is it removable from the fenderwell for inspection?
Thanks, Tom

Thanks for the help - is that big tank behind the fenderwell removable for inspection?

Well, eyeball the size of your right fender - it's THAT big inside =) It have very peculiar shape too =)

Yes, just pull off the wheel, and carefully remove all mudguards pistons. They are reusable, you have to hold the round part and pull the pin out and they pulls out.
Then remove mudguard - it's huge but light. Under there you'll see the culprit. It's quiet self explanatory in there. Tank is held by only 1 piston, so you can easyly remove it to check it out, and inspect the pumps.

Cheers, hope i helped.

When you get the tank off you will note that the pump is located low in the tank. I removed the pump and cleaned out a valve. This fixed the leak. you could also go to Auto zone and buy a new pump for about 20.00. This will fix it.

So is the problem due to fluid leaking out of the pump up through the lines? Wouldn't that kind of violate the law of physics :-) or its leaking through something else?

The pump is at the bottom of a container which is shaped like a inverted wine bottle. This is hidden inside the fender. the pump is at the bottom of the total fluid supply, if the valve in the pump gets crud it leaks and a slow drain of fluid appears on the ground at the rear of the right front wheel well. I fixed mine by cleaning the valve, you can buy new pump for about 20.00 at auto zone. Takes about 1 hour to remove the pump and container and replace.
