Get that checked. 1400 I can't find, but I'm sure someone here can help you out. If it's 0400 it's a problem with the EGR system. 301 is a misfire in the #1 cylinder, which could be related to the problems with the catalytic converter(s). If you have a duratec engine (DOHC), you'll have two cats to go with the two exhaust pipes, unless I'm dearly mistaken. Good luck. shorod 01-29-2007, 11:29 PM What year is your Taurus and which engine do you have? -Rod shorod 01-29-2007, 11:39 PM From your Private Message I see you have a 1996 wagon. Per the factory service manual, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1400 indicates that Self-Test has detected a DPFE SIG circuit input below the minimum. Possible causes: -- Leaking upstream pressure hose. -- DPFE SIG shorted to GND or SIG RTN. -- VREF shorted to GND or SIG RTN. -- Damaged D.P.F. EGR sensor. -- Damaged PCM. The DPFE has been a rather common issue with the Taurus and would effect both cylinder banks. This might be a good place to start. A misfire of cylinder #1 would typically only effect bank 1. -Rod vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
