I was just looking around on eBay and saw a product called Turbomag. It says it's supposed to increase mpg and horsepower, I'm pretty sure it's a piece of crap but I thought I'd ask anyway.

I don't see how it will increase hp & mileage, but it may extend engine life if it works like they claim ... all I got to say is it better have a good magnet on it ... or you'll be dodging them on the highway ...

" just looking around on eBay and saw a product called Turbomag. It says it's supposed to increase mpg and horsepower ".

Rumor has it that if you put wings on your car, you'll fly like a Delta 747, lol....

Actually, just having fun... no offense meant. All that stuff is mostly crap, but the sad part is that some people actually fall for it. And those are probably the ones that will tell you that their car flies with the product, lol...

just use snake oil, its cheaper and way better for the engine

That's a darn good point, Jim !!! Somebody used to say... "There's one born every second"... Can't remember who said that; somebody from the circus I think...

The Link above is the link to the auction, the link posted earlier was to a different product I think.

Like I said I know its piece of crap but I was just curious if anyone else knew anything about it.

Im sorry to say but you are correct in posting that this is probably a piece of crap. The product cannot do as it says. Mathmatically and chemically this is not a possible result for the amount of time that the fuel would pass between the two magnets. You will only be seperating the ions for a short moment then they will clutter and come together again.

Sorry to say, but this is just a bunch of BS!!

If you are truley interested in increasing gas milege then I would suggest giving something like the below link a try. I've heard of great success with these. No guarentees by anymeans but I would believe that this would certainly work much more efficiently than what you posted earlier!! Especially since this really only cost 68 bucks. I spend way more than that in groceries a week...haha.

Hope all this helps you,

Mythbusters tried that concept out and proved it BS..

78silverbird, the e-bay listing you shown us is even more of a piece then the first ad I seen, atleast IF the first kept metal out of your oil it would do some good.

boug0752, not only did Mythbusters bust the tornado, I personally know someone who ran one on a dyno on several different motors, and it neither gave any power of fuel mileage increase on the dyno ... sorry.

Yeah I had seen the Tornado before also and talked to a few different people and was told was a piece of crap also.

I think they busted the tornado and the fuel magnets on the same episode.. Imagine getting thousands of tiny FERROUS metal fragments in one big clot inside the fuel line, then removing the magnet.. OUCH!
