Got a 1999 plain jane red neon sohc. IT has developed a high idle and when
warmed up it still wants to go on it's own from stoplight. Going 60 mph you don't hav to push too hard. And now it is geting a slight uneven idle in park
when warm. It starts fine and still gets good mpg ( 30-33 ).Is it risky to ignore this? I was thinking it might be the iac Or dirty thottlebody. Was hoping you could give some advice. Looked at IAC and can't get to it.Oh,
it's got Automatic Transmission.

how high is the idle. check the rubber intake tube, it connects the intake plenum to the tb assembly. make sure the clamps are tight, also make sure the tube is not torn, check you brake booster hose, and you purge solenoid vaccum hose. possibly you may have a vaccum leak. start the vehicle and hear for any hissing/

You get to the IAC thru the by pulling the throttle body off. Clean the TB and IAC and check the TPS.
