I just upgraded from a 90 toronado to an 02 aurora. It has 40,000 miles on it and is in excellent condition. I recieved all the maintance records as the previous owner took to the dealership. Came with a clean cafax report. My questions is this . . . a friend informed me that Auroras have huge problems with their engine and trannys. I thought this to be true for the previous body style but now he has me worried. it has the 3.5 engine. I thought they changed engines when they changed the body style. Any help to alleviate my nerves would be appreciated. Is there anything else i should be looking for or expect to happen? I hope not cause I am in-love with this car!

Thanks

concider yourself very lucky to have a 02' aurora.if you do the normal scheduled maintenance and oil changes every 3,000 i'm sure you will have very good luck with the car.many common repairs can be performed with the help of this forum as well as others.i have a 95' and love it.

Thanks for replying I was beginging to think I made a mistake! Why should feel lucky? Is 2002 the last year for them? Also, where in the hell is the battery? I searcherd the form and founf nothing. I think it is under the rear seat but how the hell do you get to it? Is there a release or something, that allows the seat to lift up?

i think '03 was the last year for the aurora.the battery is located under the rear seat.on my '95 you just lift the rear seat upward.
