15k mile checkup for $250: Should I?xthirdimpact 01-23-2007, 06:46 AM I gotta 2003 4Runner V8 Sport Edition, bought with 16,800 miles on it. Went to a dealer to see about a 20k checkup, he asked if i knew if it got a 15k beforehand cuz it has a longer checklist of items, supposedly some important points. I didnt know, so i called every VT dealer (thats where the original owner was from) and finally found the place where it was serviced....and they had no record of a 15k checkup. So,...my dealer here in MA (which was a complete !@#$@#$ to me when i had a VW and they sold VW's back then) told me a 15k would cost me $250, and lord knows if something needs replacing that they'll tack more onto that... So whatcha think? Should i just do the oil changes and whatnot, or should i do the 15k checkup and feel proud to be a "good, well-trained Toyota owner"? Thanks!
