What is the likely cause for the Brake light and chime to go off on my 95 olds 88? The pressure on the brake pedal seems normal.

Welcome to AF.
Check the brake fluid level for starters..
Then check for diagnostic trouble codes(DTC) you car is OBD-I.

Thanks for the response. My brake fluid level was low. The cause of the chime was very simple thankfully. The parking brake was depressed enough to set off the warning light and chime. My son is the primary driver, he must have accidently depressed the parking brake.
We had an electrical problem with our "88" that was solved by advice I read on the forum. The car would start most of the time but inexplicably would not start at other times. When the non starting occured the power door locks would not work. I read a post that suggested checking the wires on the floor by the driver's door. Sure enough that was the problem. Thanks for providing an excellent source of advice.
