Jean-Pierre of Collector's Studio in Toronto is stating that an edition of 10 were built exclusively for his gallery - no mention if "his" 10 are above and beyond the 60 that we already knew about. Collector's Studio have been around for years and are best known for actual Formula One memorabilia such as authentic race-worn suits and helmets and wings and stuff.
He has one of the models on Ebay right now for $1199.00, doesn't say how many of the 10 remain available.

Here's the ebay ad

Mclaren (http://cgi.ebay.com/1-12-Mclaren-F1-LM-Orange-n-UT-PMA-Paul-Model-Art-OOP_W0QQitemZ290071835651QQihZ019QQcategoryZ418QQr dZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

I just visited the website and saw this while browsing through.
"-1/5 1996 McLaren F1 roadcar. Edition of 25, custom colors and versions are available, enquire for price and delivery dates NEW "
It's in the "large scale models" area.. obviously.

Over the past 3/4 weeks there have been a few LM's 1/12 on eBay, and also a few 1/12 road cars - means probably 1 of 2 things () either people are short of cash after Christmas and want to raise some readies, or they are unwanted Christmas Presents (:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :screwy: :screwy: :screwy: )

Personally i'd guess at the 1st option

The road cars are people still trying to cash in at high prices before the re-release later this year. There are several on there right now with BIN prices of US$950. When the model is re-released there will no doubt be more with speculators having bought extras in the hopes of turning a profit.

but 950USD seems a bit too high... since I bought my 6 different colors of PMA Mclaren (2 Silver, Grey, Yellow, Red, Deep Red) at a range of 500-650USD each.... in mid-2006 only....

I'm certainly not going to argue with you - too rich for my blood - but there are people apparently willing and able to pay it! I will say that there has been some softening in prices in the last year but nowhere near enough that I can justify buying one instead of waiting for the re-release.

Since I got all 7 colors of PMA Mclaren (total 8 pieces including to 2 silver), I am not planning to buy any of these high-priced items... well, when the re-release version comes, I will buy a few of them too.

i heard minichamps is still negotiating wat other colors it could produce with mclaren permissions/licences.also the silver might not enter the market according to the release dates by minichamps....i hope the market value stays until the release for these babies..:)

Hi there,

Grand Prix Legends here in the UK are offering pre-orders of the re-released 1/12 McLaren F1 Road Car in Silver by Minichamps.

The really nice thing is that they are also offering a signed version (as in signed by Gordon Murray) for just £249.99.
