Autobahn Tranny Problem?

I have a ’95 aurora with the autobahn package. When I move the shifter out of park into reverse or drive sometime it takes 30 sec or longer to engage into gear. Once into gear appears to run normal. Another problem I am encountering sometime is when I move the shifter out of park into reverse or drive. There is no 30 sec delay, instead it “slams hard” into gear making a loud noise when doing so. Once again when into gear appears to run normal. Once this problem has occurred the only way to correct the problem from reoccuring every time I go from park to reverse or drive is to pull the “ECM” fuse under the back seat. A couple of years ago I replaced the shift solenoids. After replacing the solenoids the trans seem to work just fine. Also I notice when I replaced the solenoids and changed the fluid once. That the trans filters were just lying in the bottom of the pan. This problem has happen to me twice. It almost acts like the o-ring to hold them into place doesn’t work to good.

Has anyone else experience these problem? If so what have you done to fix them.

Thank You!!!

you need to take that in and get it serviced unless you want to replace it

The Hard slam into gear can be a couple of things both bad. Have fixed this problem by replacing the main computer. If you are lucky you can get a cadillac or aurora computer unit at a junk yard. If it is not the computer then it probably is the "Turbine Speed Sensor" a cheap part but requires major work to get to it. Even with short cuts you are looking at 8 hours labor to replace TSS.
