96 T/C crank no startbsansa 01-15-2007, 08:17 PM This morning I go out and try to start my 96 T/C 3.8 and the engine cranks but won't start. I've had the Alternator and Battery checked and they are fine. I was able to get the engine started but I had to press on the gas pedal and keep it there to keep it going. After a while the car would finally idle and is running. I do notice that the lights (interior and exterior) flicker a little. Any help would be great thanks. RIP 01-19-2007, 01:40 PM Binding throttle plate - try cleaning the throttle body with a spray cleaner Bad IAC valve - try cleaning it first Weak fuel pump - connect a pressure gauge to the fuel rail Getting a Service Engine light on the dash? Smell fuel as your cranking? Hear the pump? bsansa 01-20-2007, 07:50 AM The pump kicks in when you turn the key. There is no service engine light. The car is running great now. We had an awful lot of rainy days in a row and was wondering if the wet weather could have been the cause? I'll clean the throttle body and see if it comes back.
