Power Question at 7000 feet?SkiNutJones 01-14-2007, 06:49 PM Hello all, I'm new to the Impreza forum, but I've been on this site for a while (3gen eclipse, and Jeep). I bought an "06 WRX, and I've been reading about how to get power and what not to do. Here's the question though... I live in Park City, UT at around 7000 feet. I know that there is a lot less air up here, and we lose power because of it. Is a cat back worth the money? I also know from reading the faq's that the CAI's are bad, but up here in the thin air are they ok or no? Thanks for any help Eric freakray 01-14-2007, 07:32 PM I wouldn't bother with a CAI, if you want to do an intake mod go with either the SPT or COBB short ram, both are designed to work with the stock computer maps and won't throw a fault code. As for a catback, no problems, a good system will give you around a 10-15hp gain depending on the system, some will give you more but beware going to far. A good catback is definitely worth the money. SkiNutJones 01-15-2007, 12:31 AM Thanks man, I've seen a few around here that have exhaust's on them. I've also been reading about the silencer mod on the intake. Should I look into that or do the short ram? Eric freakray 01-15-2007, 07:51 AM Do the short ram - it makes more sense. If you do the SPT it doesn't effect warrantees, if you do the silencer mod, it does. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
