how can I tell if the engines are compatable?

I have an 89 blazer s10 and I have an engine from a 89 astro?

both are tbi but I heard that there are 2 types of 4.3l.

mine has an external oil filter and the other doesn't...

Check the VIN number for a V or a W in the string and check with a local salvage yard. They can cross reference it for you. Sometimes they get cranky about questions like this from people, but I've found that taking doughnuts with you helps.

And whats with the Candian taxes on doughnuts anyway?

Both are4.3L, 1989, both are TBI? The swap will work, no problem. Remove the oil filter adapter from your S-10 motor and bolt it to the "new" motor and go.
You will also have to swap the oil-filter bypass valve in the block. It is right there where the filter / adapter mount to the block.

Yeah, like i said whats with that? Goverment subsidies for obese people, or just a penalty on temperance? Think you can get the same deal passed on liqour by the drink? Your taxes are way to high.

about the tax I don't understand it, it has something to do with candy and food...

if you buy less doughnuts then its is considered candy and more its considered a staple...

this is not a fully lawful description of the difference though so don't take my word for it.

must be a tax break for cops, they just pool their money going in and avoid the tax.
