Drive belt tensionvikon 09-24-2002, 10:42 PM Hey, I'm going to replace the drive belts on my '96 Infiniti G20...I have purchased NAPA Tension Gauge to set the belt tension correctly since it's my first time and I don't like the idea of guessing. I have FSM for a 1993 G20 and it doesn't specify tension adjustment, only deflection. So basically the gauge I purchased is useless. I know that newer models nissan's specify tension adjustments. Is there any way I can find that info? Any input would be appreciated... Thank you! Regards, Viktor vikon 09-24-2002, 11:13 PM Would the dealership have this info? P11GT 09-25-2002, 09:35 AM the dealers will have the info, you should just ask one of the mechanics. But all i do is just tension up the belt, and then try turning the belt no more than a quarter turn, and thats about it. Otherwise, try feeling the tension of the belts as they are now, and when you swap them, just mimick what they feel like now. I know its not the technical way of doing it, but it does work. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
