I have a 2000 Limited auto, and when I am in OD and coasting, sometimes I hear a weird squeaking/chirping noise that sounds almost like belt noise, but it goes away as soon as I touch the accelerator. When the noise does occur, it almost sounds like it is coming from underneath or just behind the front seats. And ideas?

How long has it been since you greased your propeller shaft fittings?

All I have done to it maintenance wise is an oil change and brakes. I only bought it about 6 months and 6k ago. It is due for and oil change but that is it. It had a "full servicing" by the dealer right before I bought it.

Did you buy this from a Toyota dealer? Even if you did, ive learned not to believe a word they say. I drove all the way to VT once (3 hours) to look at a 2003 Sport Edition for sale...guy said it had been serviced and looked like a "great, mint rig",...but when i got there it was JUNK! Scratches gallore, dog hair, dog smell, rusted 300%, problems all over the place...hell, i couldnt even get the gas door open!!!!

in short, bring it to a dealer for service or a well-trusted mechanic. Some of these people just throw a "for sale" sign on it.
