3rd gen - weird belt like noisesethvet2b 01-12-2007, 08:57 PM I have a 2000 Limited auto, and when I am in OD and coasting, sometimes I hear a weird squeaking/chirping noise that sounds almost like belt noise, but it goes away as soon as I touch the accelerator. When the noise does occur, it almost sounds like it is coming from underneath or just behind the front seats. And ideas? Brian R. 01-13-2007, 09:14 PM How long has it been since you greased your propeller shaft fittings? sethvet2b 01-13-2007, 10:55 PM All I have done to it maintenance wise is an oil change and brakes. I only bought it about 6 months and 6k ago. It is due for and oil change but that is it. It had a "full servicing" by the dealer right before I bought it. xthirdimpact 01-15-2007, 02:49 PM Did you buy this from a Toyota dealer? Even if you did, ive learned not to believe a word they say. I drove all the way to VT once (3 hours) to look at a 2003 Sport Edition for sale...guy said it had been serviced and looked like a "great, mint rig",...but when i got there it was JUNK! Scratches gallore, dog hair, dog smell, rusted 300%, problems all over the place...hell, i couldnt even get the gas door open!!!! in short, bring it to a dealer for service or a well-trusted mechanic. Some of these people just throw a "for sale" sign on it. Brian R. 01-15-2007, 04:05 PM Have the propellor shaft fittings all greased. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
