1992 Caddy Deville Break Question

The (ABS) light came on my mothers car yesterday morning and when i looked through her owners manual i found out that you could go ahead and turn the car off and on and the light would reset. We'll she did that and it was fine, we'll last night we were driving back from the shop and her breaks just locked up around this corner, then after the corner it seemed fine again and when she tryed to stop it was extreamly hard , so i had her pull over and had a friend of mine come tow us back to my house so i can look at it , but since i dont know anything about break systems i honestly was wondering if sumoen on her might know the answer to my question, so if u do it would be greatly appriciated, thanks!
