Hey everyone, I had a question or two about Hondas. From what I keep reading it seems Honda Civics are the sucky, low-end or "poser" car when it comes to street racing. Is this true, or am I mistaken? Im curious because im turning 16 soon, and the car im getting is my dads '94 Civic EX. My dad and I are going to work on it together, and turn it into something amazing. But is it going to be a waste of time? Will it be stupid to put money into this car? Does it have any racing potential? Thanks in advance for any info...

Honda Civics get a bad rap, because of the people who don't know what they are doing. Most Civic owners just slap on a header, exhaust, cold air intake; and talk smack about how fast their car is. Others choose to make their cars look fast with big ugly body kits, huge cheese grater wings, and vinyl :disappoin But they have all the potential in the world, just depends on how much $ you're truly willing to spend. With a stock engine, it'll be slow (peppy enough for daily driving, but slow to most standards). This is where your $ comes in. Your best bet is to either rebuld the stock engine and put a turbo kit together (don't go cheap, get a good engine management system and get it professionally tuned if you go this route). Or, an engine swap is in order. Here is a nice read about the different engine swaps that are available: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=19176 For general engine prices for a swap, check out www.hmotorsonline.com (http://www.hmotorsonline.com)

i like mine looking like crap, but with a monster under the hood... i have a swap in my 93 EX and i love it... and its not slow.... in fact... it may go from quick to actually "fast" once my turbo goes on.
