Airbag light on! bigdinz 01-09-2007, 07:36 AM
I had this info in another thread but the title was misleading. I replaced my heater core in my 98 Blazer. After installing everything and also checking the airbag connections the airbag light is stuck on. After driving it this morning I noticed the cruise control light isn't coming on. The cruise works fine but the lamp in the dash doesn't come on. So here I am again asking for some advice on this problem. I have checked the airbag connections at least 5 times and all other electrical connections are also connected (as far as I saw).:banghead: Chris Stewart 01-09-2007, 10:56 AM I'd get it scanned, really hate to see that airbag light on. frehol 01-09-2007, 12:30 PM Hi, Is the airbag light flashing when you turn the key? (selftest) or is it alltime on? If not flashing during selftest when you turn the key I guess you maybe dammaged the wire to the airbag light? As your CC light does not work propperly either I think it might also be dammaged and is something to check... //Freddy bigdinz 01-09-2007, 12:53 PM I didn't check to see if it flashes yet, I'll do that. I am going to go get it scanned tomorrow or sometime soon. bigdinz 01-09-2007, 10:29 PM O.K. I feel and surely look like an idiot!! It was the fuze. I sure as heck do not remember removing it! But my cruise light is still out, I guess I'll replace that bulb in the cluster. Thanks all for your advice!!:screwy: Kevster324 01-16-2007, 04:05 PM My airbag light is also on as well as my CEL light. The airbag light flashes on startup (selftest) then stays on. I ahve a 4.3 l in a '97 Jimmy. I just bought the car. The engine was replaced 100 miles ago. Before the engine replacement, the airbag light and CEL light were not on. What to look for? bigdinz 01-16-2007, 11:26 PM I would check all connections first. From what i found out if the airbag light flashes then stays on it is a connection. If it doesn't blink then it's a power issue(fuze). Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
