Tapping noise after turning off the car

Almost every time I turn off my 95' I hear a loud tapping or popping coming from under the hood, i can feel it in the accelerator pedal. It taps about 6 to 8 times and happen's about every two to three shutoffs. I look around on the forum and couldn't find any similar threads, Is this familiar to anyone?

Could be the throttle position sensor trying to calibrate itself.

Remove the MAF sensor assembly & clean the throttle body of any contaminants that may be restricting the throttle plate.
Be sure to put the MAF back on exactly as you took it off, also careful not
to damage the screen as this could affect airflow.

Then perform the throttle position learn procedure as follows:

Turn the ignition sw to on with the engine not running
Wait 30 seconds
Turn the ignition sw to the lock position
Wait 30 seconds
Calibration complete


Don't know if this is your problem but its worth trying.
