Ranger Power steering issueRangerRigger 01-07-2007, 05:34 PM I have a 91' ranger xlt 4.0 v-6, I recently was gonna redo my ranger, well I noticed I had some power steering fluid on the ground under the truck so I looked all around and I had decided it was the return line or the pressure line, so I replaced them both, well I cleaned the housings off to make sure there were no leaks from the inserts... well there are none, however there is still oil leaking from under the truck , I crawled under the truck while it was running to observe what the problem, I isolated it, I think its actually dripping from directly beneath the fluid resevior... I think I replaced the hoses for nothing, what do you think , should I just replace the fluid resevior.. I actually saw it drip as if there may be a crak in it in the bottem.... Waiting in TX... 12Ounce 01-07-2007, 07:37 PM Most likely a damaged o-ring on the hose fitting, but a cracked case is possible. RangerRigger 01-08-2007, 02:40 AM I ended up takin the whole assembly off.. and took the pump apart, I didnt see any visble cracks... but who knows... I am gonna replace the whole pump and everything .. I dont want to go through the emotions of doing it again, thanks though vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
