Instument Panel And Radio Lights Are Out?

I installed a system in my truck and two hours later I was changing a cd and my instrument panel lights and the lights on the radio cut off and haven't came back on. If I turn the key back the time will come up on the radio but if i turn the key forward it won't. I kept the factory radio so I had to splice wires to hook up an adaptor for the rca cables. Everything seems to be good as in no wires exposed. I am about positive I checked the fuses and they are still good. Any one have a clue if something is hooked up wrong or what?

Here are the positions for wires and the colors on my wiring harness from my '02 silverado without onstar:
(To help others)

With connector vertical; and the side with almost all wires used on the right hand side:

On the right; group1 is the 6 position (only 5 used) group on the side with a 4 wire group below it:
1: 12v constant power Yellow
2: 12v switched power Red
3: Power Antenna Blue
4: Dimmer Orange/White
5: Empty
6: Ground Black

Group2 is the 4 wire set under the big 5 wire set on the same side as group 1
1: Right front + Gray
2: Right front - Gray/Black
3: Left Front + White
4: Left Front - White/Black

Group 3 is the 4 wire set on the left side of the connector
1: Left Rear + Green
2: Left rear - Green/White
3: Right rear + Violet
4: Right rear - Violet/White

What I would do is either ask a friend or go to radio shack or an auto store and ask if you can borrow a multimeter for a few minutes.

Check for 12V from wires 1, 2 and 4 with the other side of the multimeter to ground (6)
If you don't get any power readings; try moving the - of the multimeter to a real ground (Most metal in the truck)
If you DO get power readings now; then it's a bad ground wire.
If you don't get readings in either place; then go to the underhood fuse panel and start testing fuses. Most fuses have a place to set the point of a multimeter on each side to see if you get current form there to ground.

It sounds like you do have power but are having problems with the dimmer lead or continuous power leads.

Hopefully this helps you and someone else.
