Need info on old school spotlights.chromitis 01-06-2007, 03:57 AM Today you might find they're dummy spotlights mounted near the windshield. I wanted to put one on my '64 impala, but don't know if they did that in the 60's. Is that a realistic add-on for the year/make of my car? Any old-schoolers out there know? Also, if it is where would it be mounted, exactly? Thanks in advance. bill fitzhugh 04-06-2007, 12:34 PM I guess I qualify for the old school,, Graduated high school 60s (early 60s) do not remember ever seeing tear drops as we called them on a chev 62, 63 or 64 they showed up and looked great on the early model mercs and fords. They were usualy mounted on the upper part of the fender turned in spot light down. Some mounted them on the doors where you usually see rear view mirrors. This is where real usable spotlights go but most of the ones used for custom cars (fords - mercs) were just for show. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
