I can't find the answer to my specific question. SO I'm posing it here.
I have a 2005 Silverado 1500 Crew 2WD LT. The current tire size is 245/70/17. I can't afford new tires From $400-$600+ and new rims. So, I just want to get the largest (Widest) tire that will fit my stock rims w/o rubbing. I was told by a mechanic that I should be able to get by with 265/70/17 maybe go up to 305/60/17. All thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

You could probably get a 305 in there... I ran a 305/50 on 20" wheels (just barely rubbed on the inner fender well. Although im not sure of what the backspacing and offset is with a stock wheel. 285 would look good though.

I have a 2000 z71. Will the 285 75 16 tires fit under my truck?? I have a stock set up.

Just figured I would keep it under the same thread. Thanks

I have an 04 z71 stock suspension setup and I am running 285/75/R17 BFG A/Ts with no problem whatsoever.
