GMC Jimmy '99 SLT 6CYL

About 5 months ago my AC went out and I replaced the thermostat (professional diagnosis). I noticed I was low on coolant so I checked the radiator and noticed some rust, so I took it in and got it flushed refilled, etc.

The heat went out again proabably 1 month ago, and a noise started up, which is like a rhythmic squealing (similar to a knock, but just like a screetch). This noise has gotten worse.

(All other fluid levels are fine) My Coolant was completely bone dry (filled 1 month ago) So I filled it up.

I have not noticed any fluid leaks near my car, but it's rained a lot so I'm gonna throw some cardboard under it and see what comes up tonight.

I checked inside for coolant leaks (nothin), I have smelt nothing abnormal, the power level seems okay, it just squeels faster when I hit the gas, so I tend to keep it the speed limit.

I work full time to pay for school and I am super broke 24/7, otherwise I'd take it in.

Any suggestions???

Search posts on lower intake gasket - common and coolant leaks into the engine valley and lifters tap - will destroy the motor if left that way. Shop charges between $500-$700 to fix. Could also be a waterpump leak so look at the 2 holes on the body. Good luck. Squeal could be waterpump, alternator, or idler or tensioner pulleys - if lucky its all the waterpump much cheaper, but odds are intake.
