AC Problems/May be blower Motor

I have a 2000 Buick Century Custom and my AC would make this wierd noise after being turn on for a while and stop blowing until I turn the AC off and back on again.If I hit a bump the noise comes back and the blower stos working. My control switch would only work on high. I replaced the resistor for the switch and it works fine but the noise is still there. It sound like it is coming from the blower motor under the passenger side of dash board. My question is? could it be that I have a bad blower motor? is it a do-it-yourself fix? How do I remove and replace it? Help>>>>>>>>>

The blower motor is a DIY job. Just a little cramped under there. There should be three bolts that hold it up. Remove those and the electrical connector. You can try cleaning and lubing the blower motor but it is just a temporary fix and will probably get noisy again. Good luck.

I changed my blower motor this morning. Mine had a bad bearing that squealed badly. The dealer quoted $190 for a new one and gmpartsdirect.com offered it for $113. I picked up a used one from the local bone yard for $40. The toughest thing is working around a thick trunk of wires that runs just beneath the blower motor. If you decide to DIY, do yourself a favor and unbolt the metal bracket that holds the trunk of wires in place. This will provide you with the extra bit of room you'll need to remove / install the blower motor. Good luck.
