all motor or NOSB16Z6+S20 01-02-2007, 09:38 AM guys i have a chance of buying some really good cams for mi 99 GSR, i allready have basic I/H/E variable cams MSD ignition fuel regulator, the thing is i have a chance of buying a wet nitro kit, i only race like twice a month so im having a hard time deciding wich to buy, any comments on pros and cons will help, thanx. Schister66 01-02-2007, 11:40 AM i'm not a fan of nitrous and i wouldn't build my personal car into an all motor car....having said that, of the two options available, the N20 is going to make more power/$$, but i still dont like N20, so go w/ the cams....also, if you want to continue with your all motor project, i have an intake manifold that would suit your needs perfectly and at a good price... G-man422 01-02-2007, 11:42 AM Why not just buy a turbo w/ the money? But of the 2 choices i say cams. Schister66 01-02-2007, 11:42 AM Here are the pics, if you're interested, just shoot me a PM and we'll talk....otherwise, good luck with your decision http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold002.jpghttp://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold001.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold004.jpghttp://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold003.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold006.jpghttp://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold005.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold007.jpghttp://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold008.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold012.jpghttp://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/Schister66-2/HPRacingIntakeManifold009.jpg Schister66 01-02-2007, 11:44 AM Why not just buy a turbo w/ the money? But of the 2 choices i say cams. I can give some insight on that one...Turbo setups, however fun they may be, are a big headache. They are expensive, sometimes a pain in the ass to maintain, and expensive (just to reitterate that) For my setup i have invested over $4k into everything. I dont regret it one bit, but it hasn't been without its share of hard times and headaches... G-man422 01-02-2007, 11:46 AM ^ ok, thanks. I figured they were a little more expensive. But i wasnt sure about reliability. Schister66 01-02-2007, 12:06 PM I may have overstated that a little bit. My car, since it has been boosted, has given me only a few problems. 1. The idle was messed up for a while 2. The ignition coil fried 3. I ran for a long time one day so the oil was hot and i was running Royal Purple 5W-30. I ended up doing a HARD 1st through top of 4th pull and the turbo smoked for a week. It just pushed a little oil past the seals. I took it apart and had it checked, but it was fine. I was told the oil was too thin for my turbo without a restrictor. It is a ton of fun though. I can't say that enough. If i hated it, i wouldnt have invested another few thousand dollars in a new setup. I love it to death, but when you push something this hard (especially the stock engine) you're going to run into problems eventually.... B16Z6+S20 01-07-2007, 12:43 PM thanx for helping me decide guys, i'll go with the cams, let u know how it goes. thanx hondacivic99sivtec 01-08-2007, 03:22 AM cams and nos.
