My car starts up very kind of slowly and even more? it start not always so I decided it's up to my accumalator. It's 62. I wonder may be it's too low for this car (2.2)?

Huh??? Got me lost there. The accumulator is a part of the A/C system, and really would have no effect on the car starting or not.

What do u mean by A/C? Sound? Do you think im dumb as a turnikate:rolleyes:

What I mean is a battery (main car battery or I dunno how this part is named in English) . This baterry is charged when the car goes, it gets its power from generator etc. Wnen it would be off the car lights wont work... do u understand what part i mean?

If engine turns over slowly and or sometimes it needs a boost from another car,then yes you may need a new battery . depends how old battery is ,how clean the battery the battery terminals are etc. Also how cold is it there. not sure what you mean "It`s 62". If engine is turning over quickly and it does not start it could be any number of things. hope this helps

If you can get your hands on a multi tester you can check battery for charge.it should be around 12.5 volts when engine is off and around 14.4 with engine running ,lights on ,heater fan on full

No I think its because of startet... It shoud be checked and may be repaired

I meant battery capacity in amp-hours. A few months ago my old battery came off while I was in a traffic jam (it has 62 Ah). I have bought bosh battery with 55 Ah. After 1 month this battery failed, I've checked and it had 0 volts.. I've charged it to 12 volts and everything is fine again. I checked generator (the thing that charges battery while driving) and it works ok. So maybe this is because 55 Ah is too low for 2.2L cavalier? I dont have a users manual and i was unable to find right info in net, except one site that offers 44 Ah(?!) for my car. I would appreciate your help.

Are you saying that the battery cable came off the battery while the car was running? Such a thing can damage the alternator (generator), so that it will not charge the battery. You say you checked the alternator and it was OK, how did you check it? The correct way is to measure the voltage across the battery terminals when the engine is running, and it should be around 14.5 volts. If the voltage is any less you need to further investigate the alternator's condition. What you described above is a common sign of the alternator not charging.

I checked the alternator this way: I have charged the battery to 12 and connected it. Then i have started engine and I turned lights on. After a few minutes I have disconnected the negative cable from the battery - mechanics told me that if the engine would still run then the alternator is ok. The engine didn't stop so.. I thought alternator is ok)
The old battery didn't came off it just was old and it discharged during when I was in a traffic jam to 0 volts.
Thank you for your advice.. I haven't thought that disconnecting battery may be harmfull.. I would check the alternator the way you've described.
