89 jeep charokeeshades0009 01-01-2007, 08:38 PM 89 jeep cherokee turns over but won't start. l've changed spark pulgs and put new starter in it. not sure what else to do.:screwy: l put in fuel line anti frezze as well but still nothing. Jeep stalls out when it's been sitting in heavy rain or really cold, but when cold block heater works and starts up. Thinking of chageing the fuel line filter but not sure where it is? if anyone has any info please let me know asap thanks. Stick89 01-03-2007, 05:07 AM Fuel filter.....drivers side....forward from the tank.... No start possibilities: CPS....Crank Position Sensor... Located...drivers side at @11 oclock at the top of the bell housing....PITA to get to....last one I bought was bout $40.00 Coil....spark needs to be blue....if your getting yellow then the coil may be weak...or no good at all Ignition module....Sets under the coil.....Mine was fubared The coil and the ignition module are 2 seperate parts but the coil sets in the ignition module....and can be checked seperately ECM..The computer....sends a signal to the injectors....no signal....no gas The coil and the ignition module can be checked at an auto parts store IF THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING..... Last summer I had to replace all of the above...... There is a way to check and see if the injectors are getting the signal from the ECM...You will need a NOID LIGHT...and some one to crank the engine...all you have to do is put the light on the wires going to each injector and have some one turn the key.... Another possibility....fuel pressure regulator.... shades0009 01-03-2007, 12:56 PM thanks. no a good mechanic that will do all that for cheap. l only no how to do certian things and when it come to electrical shit l'm all thumbs. cheers thanks for the info. 85 22rYota 01-12-2007, 11:20 AM on my jeep it was the neutral relay switch wwwildman 01-12-2007, 11:16 PM It could also be the pick up coil AKA stator AKA cam position sensor. It is located in the distributor and does not cost much, but the distributor must be removed and the gear pressed off the shaft to remove the stator. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
