My car - im lost =(

For 2 month now i have 2 issues, both with noises.

1. front end is very bangy-cranky, while control is ok, no big vibrations etc, if i go slowly over a big bump - not a sound, but if i go like 15mph on gravel i get armageddonic noises. All front suspension components are new. Including all bushings (except cradle mount bushings), struts, mounts, bearings, hubs, rotors, brake pads etc. Changed all - car became very controllable and stiff at speed but sounds like an old horse carriage while going slow. Aligment is ok. Checked tightness of strut nuts - all good. All mechanics cant find an answer. Best is 'steering rack' but rack only wont produce so much rukus for sure. anyway im waiting for replactment rack....

this issue is like minor, compared to noise no.
2. i get this... how to explain... like a WIND HOWLING, bit metallic maybe, very articulate on gravel and uneven roads at speed. 2 month in and i cant pinpoint it's source =(((( it is VERY irritating, can be heard under any music, amplifies on certain bumps in the road. Not dependent of speed and revs (coasten in N - no change at all). Tapping brakes not affecting it. It starts like at 15mph and only stops when car stopped. Empiric source is like middle-middle of car, driver can hear it from right, passenger from left. SOmetimes i think it's from rear. So it's middle- a bit shifted to right. I can hear it very good if i look at pass door while driving. In rear seat area sound amplifies by interior space. (i think). Sometimes it gets loud. Only time i CANNOT hear it almost is on fresh paved roads... While noise present, it maybe NOT constant - like pulsing but not in rel. to speed but to tiny changes in road.
Jobs tried - it began long before any major job was done on front susp. Stab bar links - no change, stab bushings - no change, mounts+bearing (many noises appeared after i put new brngs and mounts in !!! but that noise unchanged) - no change. Put other pads/rotors - no change to noise, checked under mudshields - all good, washer tank secure.... NEW TIRES in - NO CHANGE...
NOTHING i tryed even remotely affected the noise, maybe very little.....

So at this moment i visited most mechanics in city, most check all with crowbars etc - verdict is 'all new car ok to drive'.
So im A BIT frustrated now.

More facts - noise appeared after huge pothole (if i remember corectly), which killed a right front hub. 2 hubs replacements later wheel is 'chirp' free but noise is same old. OR it began after i put new rear shock mounts in... MAYBE...

Im really subj....
I got money i got resources but i dont have the answer.....

So im open to ANY recomendations what to look at now....
THANX

Merry xmas and happy upcoming new year....
My car is looked after 95 with only 80kmiles

all signs point to bad front wheel bearing hub assemblys, but you say both have been replaced already. I'm stumped. Only other thing i can think of is the CV joints.

The noise is actually centereline of interior, from front... I had chassis ears on both front hubs and both are quiet....

i'm wondering if it could be something in the transaxle, like the torque converter possibly.

my aurora has made similar noises... a buzzing vibration..the front end noise was the traction control and was minimized with good tires with proper inflation...every time it returns i check the pressure in the front tires...like you said it was allways worse at low speeds on gravel roads.....the whistle noise has allways been there seems worse at very cold temperatures i allways thought it was vacuum hoses but never found any leaks.it seems harmless except for the noise.it has been talked about before on this forum check the archives for more opinions....happy new year

happy new year !

as to 1st issue it was resolved and it's not (haha) vacuum leak or (hehe) tcc/abs - it was cradle to body mounts. otherwise suspension is all new and stiff.

i'm really lost on 2nd... i am really not ready to pull dash apart, anyways with whole driver side cowlings off i cant hear any change in hollow drum noises.....
noise is concentrated at a interior centerline (front to rear) and i can hear it if i sit upper rather than lower, if i shift head rearward i can hear it amplified by cabin space, if i shift forward - it disappears almost completely, if i turn my head right while shifted to center, i can hear it in left ear very loud (from front of vehicle)..
had my cv's checked - they are ok...
my transaxle is good too...
yes, i can probably refer to it by 'whistling', but 'vacuum hose' to make such deep and low noise must be diameter of a fist. so thats nonsence.
As to harmlessness - i can buy a lada and have fecking noise orchestra, while being relatively safe - that is not the point with Aurora. It made and meant to be quiet !
In thread 'new noise' mate perfectly describes my case, but i cant get in touch...

Happy new year again anyways.....
