95 Dakota wont lockOOPPS 12-27-2006, 03:42 PM 95 Dakota drivers door wont lock. No power lock or windows. I dont know if a spring broke in the door mechanism. I pulled off the door panel and sprayed everything with penetrating oil hoping it would loosen up something. I think the whole mechanism needs replaced but I cant tell. You cant push the lock down on the door or lock it with a key. Trying to fix myself body shop said 550. Another said 400. Any help I would appreciate. :naughty: rhandwor 01-16-2007, 07:15 PM Buy a chiltons manual and follow instructions to remove the door panel then look at the linkage. You can go to a junk yard and purchase the defective parts. This will be much cheaper than going to a body shop. Even buying the complete insides should be cheaper. Check that the lock motor has power. KimMG 01-18-2007, 09:24 AM If both the window and the lock have failed, inspect the wiring coming into the door. You'll need a test light or meter and a wiring diagram. http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/11/3b/c2/0900823d80113bc2.jsp vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
