question about the HPhany 12-26-2006, 05:35 AM i heard from some friend say : the stock hp of japanees car measured from the flywheel but the stock hp of the german car measured from the wheels is that right ? AudioGuy93DelSol 12-31-2006, 12:42 PM Not sure, but almost no manufactures measure wheel horsepower. Methods usually vary depending on the manufacturer. Some measure brake horsepower, measurded at the crankshaft with no accessories. Others measure SAE horsepower, measured at the flywheel with accessories. Hence the reason the new Si has a rating of 197 while the RSX has the 200 with the same motor. The Honda division chose to dyno with the power steering pump active while Acura did not. hany 01-04-2007, 06:32 PM yes that is very good. other questio plz i heard that the b16a 2nd generation jdm suppose to be 170hp. but its not its 144hp is that right ? CivicSpoon 01-04-2007, 06:34 PM It has 170 bhp, so it probably has around 144 hp at the wheel. hany 01-06-2007, 06:34 AM yes. i get it now. thanks alot man DuiSonOfDarp 01-25-2007, 04:22 PM European use bhp which roughly translated is brake horse power, not sure how the measure it but it's not that far from the true jdm measurement of ps or our flywheel hp vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
