Has anyone w/ a cavi on this forum done an L67 engine swap? MVGTP86 12-25-2006, 02:42 AM
My g/f's cavi is ready to die.....plus i just want to do this swap b/c i know its been done and the results can be outstanding in performance...I have a used L67 block (3.8L Supercharged)(i had a new one put it in this fall its out of my GTP) in my garage and wanted to rebuild it and swap it in my girlfriends cavi..I know i need a better transmission, hers is bad anyways and a stock cavi tranny couldnt take that power anyway..Does anyone have any suggestions or tips if they have done this swap or know of any write-ups on it?? Thanks. PulledOverAgain 12-25-2006, 08:28 AM Try going to http://forums.motorswap.org/ One of the forums is "J-body Think Tank". There's guys in there that have done the swap. And if it's an 00+ 5spd cavy. Yes, the stock tranny WILL hold that much power. ;) MVGTP86 12-25-2006, 11:20 AM Try going to http://forums.motorswap.org/ One of the forums is "J-body Think Tank". I'm sure there's a way to get the 4t65e-hd in there though, i've seen it done before. Or, one guy runs a Getrag 5spd with a 3.4" pulley and some N2O.
