Killing BatteriesCashMcL 12-23-2006, 10:11 AM I have a 1995 4cil manual Jeep Cherokee with a battery problem. The car initially wouldn't start with it's battery, and charging it with a battery charger (roller on 2 wheels, not sure what its actually called) didn't do the trick. The Car *would* run with the battery disconnected using only the charger to start, then disconnecting...making me assume the alternator is good? Replaced the battery and the car ran fine for 1-2 weeks, then was dead again this morning. Possibly a bad lead from the alternator to battery? Just a guess...any opinions/fixes greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cash Saudade 12-23-2006, 10:54 AM Check/clean your grounds. Check your battery cables themselves (peel back a bit of the insulation around the terminal). Could still be be the alt. It takes a lot to charge the battery and power the fuel and ign circuits. The combined load may be too much.
