Welcome to AF!

Your best bet would to be buy a SC kit.
Though I am not certain their is one for your 3.1L.

Most I have seen are for the 3.4, I'll look through some links(Oem performance parts (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=502706)link in the Grand am forums) and see if I can find a SC for your 3.1.

I know a person who did supercharge his 98 3.1 GA, I will see if I can get a picture from him so you can see what he did. But he did tell me that he got his kit from the junk yard and off supercharged grand prix. And also there is some kind of chip that you can instal so that governor does not have his role anymore.

no one makes a kit for that motor. you would have to make your own.

You can't chip OBD2 PCMs, the only way to remove the governor is to make a switch that shuts off the VSS (vehicle speed sensor), or to raise it through the use of HPTuners, or to go with a full standalone computer.
