Service engine soon light?????BMW540-6 12-17-2006, 05:36 PM Hi im new to the forum but have a question. I just replaced the fan clutch on my trailblazer but the service engine soon light is still on. Is there a way to shut it off without taking it somewhere and paying to have it shut off? Thanks in advance rodeo02 12-18-2006, 10:58 AM First thing I'd do is read the code to see what it is. If it's a fan clutch related code, I'd pull a battery lead for atleast 15min to reset the PCM. You gotta love these genious electro-mechanical fan clutches. What a cluster *.:banghead: Joel twistedtech 12-18-2006, 06:56 PM I wonder if you wait long enough if it will say " Service Engine NOW!" Oh come on.......that was funny. It's on for a reason. Is there a way to shut it off without taking it somewhere and paying to have it shut off? Thanks in advance Mid-'05 GM switched to a re-designed fan clutch w/ new part #. There is a TSB and a re-flash involved in the replacement. If you had the work done at a GM dealer's they should have re-prog'd the PCM and cleared the codes. maxwedge 05-13-2007, 11:08 AM Welcome to AF.
