Will I fit?Andydg 12-16-2006, 11:00 PM I've been looking into buying an early 90's MR2 Turbo for a lil' while now and it kinda dawned on me that it's a small car and I'm a big guy...I was wondering if I would fit. I'm 6'2" or so, I know I don't fit in an S2000, but only barely...my right knee is wedge against the steering wheel pretty good. I'd like to know before I start actually looking at these cars in person so I don't waste some poor guy's saturday afternoon just to find out that I don't fit. Thanks in advance. silversup 12-17-2006, 11:04 AM u will fit. just cant be a daily driver. Andydg 12-17-2006, 05:12 PM Alrighty thanks, I appreciate it. Greenmr21990 12-27-2006, 06:32 PM I am 6 " 3 and a half and I fit very comfortably in my mr2. However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. a) if there are after market racing seats in the car you will most likely not fit because most of these seats are not designed to maximize the space behind the seat. Your best bet is to find some factory seats and then crank those babies right to the back of the cab as I have to do. b) you must enjoy a driving in a fairly reclined position. once you are in the car its actually a very comfortable ride. c) it will be a bit of a trouble getting in and out of the vechile until you develop the proper technique. I gotta say ... its well worth the sacrifice ... best car I have ever owned. Georgieo101 01-05-2007, 01:17 AM Ha, that so funny. I actually just logged on to see if i would fit in one, as i am 6'3" and a half ish. Good to know. Is the hard top have the same space characteristics? Because I have found one that i am very interested in, i know how rare the hardtops are. klohiq 02-07-2007, 10:05 AM you should have about an inch more headroom since a hard top has the same body dimensions as a sunroof equipped model...as for the t-tops, not sure, but you probably have slightly more headroom than them unless you take the t-tops out :lol2:... JekylandHyde 02-08-2007, 06:42 AM I am 6'0 and have zero problems fitting in a MKII. I have a few friends that also drive MR2s that are 6'2" and 6'3". Andydg 02-08-2007, 12:56 PM I am 6'0 and have zero problems fitting in a MKII. I have a few friends that also drive MR2s that are 6'2" and 6'3". Thanks Jeff. Overall are these things pretty reliable? Also how hard are they to work on (I've got huge hands and had trouble working on my old GSX). JekylandHyde 02-09-2007, 06:45 AM Reliability has everything to do with how the car has been maintained. I bought Hyde with 180,000 ... raced it for 4 years, and made over 440 rwhp on that original engine. We took it out after 4 seasons with 203,000 miles on it. It had done over 140 drag races, 6 or 7 hillclimbs, 20+ dyno pulls and lots of autocrosses & abusive street driving. If they are taken care of, they offer very little headaches. As for them being hard to work on, I'm a biased judge as I've only ever had MR2s really ... 13 of them. Of the few other cars I have tinkered with, I have not found them to be much different. Andydg 02-09-2007, 07:44 PM Ok...thanks for the info! Mike_E_P 05-12-2007, 08:36 AM dont ming to raise the dead forum or anything but when my dad, 6' 3.5" goes in the mr2 (trying to keep a good posture) he just opens the sunroof and lets his head stick up there LOL. I have to get a picture, its the funniest thing ever! But as of leg room, its to my amaizment got alot. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
