the Type R engine have 5 bolt axle/hub right? So if I swapped it into my civic then would i need 5 bolt rear brakes too? If i did need 5 bolt back brakes would stock Type R brakes fit on?

you don't need the five lug conversion. my friend has a type r swap and he still has 4 lugs. yes the type r brakes would fit all the way around. goodluck.

only if you buy it with the hubs

Hubs have absolutely nothing to do with an engine swap. Its almost like saying you have to swap out your front seats to make the engine swap work. :bloated:

You just need to use 4 lug B-series axles. The 5 lug spindles also require type-r axles (36mm, compared to I think 34mm on a 4 lugger). And not all of the type-Rs came with 5 lug, JDM pre '96 itr had 4x114.3 lug pattern.
When it comes to brakes, the itr fronts will fit on your EX (you need the bracket, caliper, and lines). For the rears you need the whole trailing arms, or the brakes with the backing plate, e-brake cables, and brake lines.
Good luck with the project.

is it easy to swap my back stock drums to rear disc?

It's not super hard but not easy either. Easiest way is to buy 94+ Integra rear trailing arms, along with the e-brake cables, and brake lines. Then you unbolt the whole trailing arm, take the exhaust off (to run the e-brake cables), and put the new parts on. Then you just bleed the brakes and thats it.

To have the most braking power you'll also need (easiest upgrade) GS-R fronts, bigger master cylinder ('93 EX sedan had 15/16" which bolts in, the GS-R mc will need the GS-R brake booster), and a 40//40 proportioning valve, as without it you probably won't even feel a difference.

Just to let you know, good brake pads, rotors, and lines is the cheapest way to upgrade the braking power, and is very effective.

so for the front what do i need? I need control/trailing arms too or what?

why would you want five lug in front and four lug in the rear?

For the front in the EX, all you need is the brake caliper, caliper bracket, and brake lines, thats if you are doing a GS-R upgrade, if you are going for the Legend, ITR or NSX brakes (anything along those lines), then you'll also need the rotors, which will have to be redrilled to fit the 4 lug.

oh no i dont want 5 in the front and 4 in the back. i was curious to how i could swap the b18c5 in without having to do that. i dont want to do that.

But the gsr is 4 bolt and i heard about people putting gsr rear brake conversion in the back of a civic. so i could do that in both the front and in the back?
