trans filter and accumulator 98gpking 12-15-2006, 12:08 PM
ok im in the process of installing a shift kit it says remove the 4 bolts holding on the accumulator..theres nothing in out or around the trans with just 4 bolts. does anybody have a picture of the accumulator it dosent have to be in the car it could be a picture from autozones site or something also how does the trans filter come out does it just pull straight down? BNaylor 12-15-2006, 12:22 PM Pull straight down on the filter. You can rock it slightly side to side to loosen. On the accumulator are 4 mounting bolts located towards the side of the accumulator. The accumulator is the part that has the pipes/lines going to the 2-1 manual servo. 98gpking 12-15-2006, 12:24 PM Pull straight down on the filter. You can rock it slightly side to side to loosen. (gulp) i hope all works out ok lol troy1 12-15-2006, 07:21 PM Pull the 8mm blots just leave one in that you can see does not hold it to the case. Just make sure you get the lube tube ( the one with the rubber line )installed all the way in its critical for lube to the geartrain. Don't take the 3 10MM blots out of the servo. Get some green loctite sleeve retainer (640 I think) and put it on the end of the tube and stick it in the hole and let it sit over night. This will help hold that tube in. 98gpking 12-15-2006, 07:37 PM Pull the 8mm blots just leave one in that you can see does not hold it to the case.
