Car is 2 hours away, so you'll just have to hold your horses. Might be down there this weekend, so I'll get pics of that , and the old Z28 (rip :crying: ) wrightz28 12-13-2006, 11:57 AM Alright, so of those who wants pictures so desprately, I have a question: We got a new digital camera and ever since putting a memory card in it, I take one picture and the batteries are dead, :wtf: The stupid manual is written as if you owned one of these friggen these ever since they came out. Earlsfat 12-15-2006, 03:33 AM Macro is for taking close up pictures. Earlsfat 12-15-2006, 03:34 AM And just because the manual doesn't list the camera's fluid capacities and the torque values on it's screws doesn't mean it doesn't make sense...:lol2: goldz28 12-15-2006, 04:07 AM Dylan, what kind of camera is it. some times when you buy a new camera there are two or three settings for batteries. Etc, if your using lithium, the nickle metal hydride or whatever. If you don't put the setting right in the camera it will suck the battery dead in no time. Took less than 30 min for min when I first got it. Hope that helps. 666_speed 12-15-2006, 07:23 AM Cold weather and cheap batteries will run them down almost instantly. wrightz28 12-15-2006, 10:35 AM And just because the manual doesn't list the camera's fluid capacities and the torque values on it's screws doesn't mean it doesn't make sense...:lol2: son of a bitch didn't even list any of that either :dunno: worhtless fother mucker pos. :disappoin I was even looking for the good ol "for more information, please refer to our website: www.youratechnicallychallangedidiot.com" :cya: And... I kinda figured that's what the macro thing was about 'cause I couldn't use the zoom function. But I still don't understand why the flash won't work without it on, which is when the batteries just die, (2 standard AAA). And why the hell would they call it "macro", in my world a macro is a prewritten stiring of commands to get to a specific screen location whn a program window is started. :dunno: Jeremy, I think it's a DXG 5.1 megapixel or something like that :dunno: I figured out how to go through all the settings, but didn't see anything for batteriies. I did double check many times to make sure that my wife didn't put it on a outrageous image size. Oh and Jim, Using car talk here, the problem started to occur after the memory card was installed. At first I figured it was cheap batteries, no biggie, so went and got good ol Duracells, checked em with the built in charge detecter, but, not trusting them like I don't trust dash gauges I verified the voltage with my DVOM so they are okay, and they were offically dead when removed. That sucks. LMAO...Put some jumper cables on that bitch! Seriously though, sounds like there's a major short in there someplace, maybe the memory has something to do with it, but I don't see how. How long do new battereis last before they die??? I'd be back at the place I bought it from all fired up by now, telling them I want new batteries too. (I have very little patience for anything electronic.) Earlsfat 12-15-2006, 12:08 PM Wait a minute... did you say AAA's... not AA's? That seems awfully light on a camera. Does it have the screen and all that BS? If so, you might want to turn off all the extraneous BS, ie something running is draining the system too hard. Of course, if the batt's are dieing like within 15 minutes, there really is something wrong with the little bastard... take it back... screaming and hollering. Maybe they'll give you some free shit for your troubles. wrightz28 12-15-2006, 12:11 PM Flash should still work on macro setting... something's "amiss". The "amiss" part is I have to have the macro on in order to get a flash, didn't have to before :dunno: That sucks. LMAO...Put some jumper cables on that bitch! Seriously though, sounds like there's a major short in there someplace, That my friend is a tempting idea. The short is probably more like something short with fat pudgy "little" hands got a hold a damn thing and screwed it up (as usual :disappoin ). Anytime a camera is left laying around it usually is chucked full of pictures of the floor and the guilty suspects feet. Batteries last 2 pictures at best, then buh-bye. :banghead: 1986Z28 12-16-2006, 01:29 PM Shouldn't you be installing your hood sruts? har har, atleast i have a camaro.... lol Earlsfat 12-16-2006, 05:32 PM ... more like something short with fat pudgy "little" hands ... Hmmm... I have a few of those too... I satisifed the "Iwanafuckwithit" urges by giving them the old junky camera that didn't really take pictures, but the flash went off when you pushed the button. I also gave them my old cell phones and adding machines. They've got quite a collection going on, but always seem to want more.... I think they get that from my wife. ikeyballz 12-17-2006, 08:21 AM haha.. what kind of memory card is it? is it a 'cf microdrive'? if it is, that might be the problem..some of them are actual hard drives and they suck the power straight outta that shit..specially if youre using only 2 AAA's. time to move on the the cannon REBEL. :o with external battery pack! lol, jk :D wrightz28 12-18-2006, 11:09 AM har har, atleast i have a camaro.... lol I still have it. :dunno: Jim, actually a nice deterent is to turn the old camaras into a tazzer with the flash button. We're just going to take the thing back, refund it and and get a brand I've actually heard of. goldz28 12-18-2006, 11:25 AM Is this your camera (http://catalog.hsn.com/prod-123678/ec/ec0108/ec0110/hp!sf!dept!cat/2218814/2218814.htm)? wrightz28 12-18-2006, 11:30 AM Is this your camera (http://catalog.hsn.com/prod-123678/ec/ec0108/ec0110/hp!sf!dept!cat/2218814/2218814.htm)? nope. As said, we're gonna take this thing back and blow a few extra bucks on a known brand. I think the wife has learned that sometimes her Bohemianess doesn't pay off. :disappoin goldz28 12-18-2006, 11:32 AM I got the Nikon L2 and love it. Simple to use. Took this pic with it on saturday http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/2230/dscn0932zl3.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Here is a review page http://www.dpreview.com/news/0602/06022101nikonl2.asp goldz28 12-18-2006, 11:47 AM Canon make a decent camera thats got like 10x opti zoom and comes with a little printer for less than 300.
