What manual to get. jeepgclwj 12-10-2006, 10:35 AM
I just bought a Haynes Repair manual #38010. Is this the manual I need for my car.. Buick Regal (1988 thru 2005) Chevrolet Lumina (1990 thru 1994) Olds Cutlass Supreme (1988 thru 1997) Pontiac Grand Prix (1988 thru 1999) It doesnt seem to say much about superchargers. and isnt mine series III? Beause it only seems to talk about series II. My car is sitting in the Auto Zone lot so I cant go look. MT-2500 12-10-2006, 11:04 AM I just bought a Haynes Repair manual #38010. Haynes and Chiltion manuals are just fit all manuals. The best manuals are factory repair manuals. And here is another good professional one. http://www.alldata.com/products/diy/index.html 24.95$ us plastic a year for online sub. Can be up and running in 10minutes. The all data keeps you updated on all tsb and new repair procedures. Well worth the money. jeepgclwj 12-10-2006, 11:13 AM Gotcha, thanks I will go get my 18 dollars back... BNaylor 12-10-2006, 11:16 AM I have the GM FSM in hardcopy and on CD. You can get them from Helm, Inc although expensive. Also, many of us found good deals on EBay on the Grand Prix FSM manual set and from other GP owners. The FSM has the best wiring diagrams and diagnostic procedures with DTC code and without for Engine, ABS and Chassis, and Supercharger maintenance, etc. The problem is wiring color coding varies among Grand Prix model years so get one specifically for your '98 model. jeepgclwj 12-10-2006, 11:37 AM Thanks jeepgclwj 12-10-2006, 11:41 AM Does this look like the deal I want? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-Pontiac-Grand-Prix-Factory-Service-Manual-Set_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34232QQihZ002QQitem Z120056986245QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW jem270 12-10-2006, 12:11 PM I bought a set online for my 1997 and paid $50 bucks for it a couple of months ago. I would wait and look for a cheaper one. They come up for sale all the time. Its your call though. They are the ultimate manual in my opinion. BNaylor 12-10-2006, 12:19 PM Does this look like the deal I want? That is the correct 3 volume set. Checkout Helm, Inc. Looks like they are getting rid of what they have in stock for 1998 models. $67.50? http://www.helminc.com/helm/product2.asp?class%5F2=PON&mk=Pontiac&yr=1998&md=Grand+Prix&dt=&module=&from=result&Style=&Sku=GMP98WPF&itemtype=N&mscsid=58XJET4DJC7J9MX3J6SJM38TKGMWEKGB Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
