I am thinking of buying a 93 B250 with a rebuilt 3.9L and was wondering if anyone knows what kind of gas mileage it will get. Thanks for any input.

It will get similar mileage to the eights. I'd suggest looking for a 5.2 van. You'll have a little more power, and your mileage will be close.

They're not good on fuel. I bet you'd be lucky to get 12 mpg in wintertime in the city, something like that. If you were steady on the highway it might be better, fifteens and sixteens probably.

You know what amazes me the most, many, many years back I had a 340 Duster (5.57L) that I'd get 16 city and 19 highway. No fuel injection, no computer, no emission controls, auto tranny. Now here we've got a more modern V6 engine with all the bells and whistles, less cubes, and the mileage is less. I noticed this same worse gas mileage with my 94 Mustang GT V8 (5.0L).

What the heck is going on with these "engineers"?

I would also recommend the V-8 over the 3.9 v-6. There's just too much heft in the full size van for a v-6.

I had a 1993 B-250 with the 318 v-8. We would get 17-18 on the highway with fresh tune up.

I've got a 1997 B2500 with the same drive train and I'm getting just under 17 on the highway. So much for engineering advances in 4 years.

My dad had a 1976 cadillac that would get 20 all day long on the highway. wtf

I just got a 94 B250 and it gets 20mpg I can go 100plus on a quarter tank. And it needs a tune up BAD. LOL
