99 F250 Superduty Fuel leak lazaie 12-08-2006, 05:44 PM
HELLO, It got down to about 20 last night. I went out this morning to warm up the truck...about 2 min later i smell diesel. I look under the truck and diesel is pouring out of it! I have no idea what would cause this...from taking a quick look it seems that the fuel is leaking out of the fuel filter/water seperator on the top of the engin. Anyone have any clues?? I will try and inspect more this weekend to try and find the cause...can anyone help point me in the right direction?....searched past threads and did not come across an answer. THANKS! unclebubbles 12-08-2006, 07:41 PM If it wasnt leaking before, and it got that cold, the seperator may have had water in it and it froze and cracked/busted. reree 12-12-2006, 11:32 AM HELLO, It got down to about 20 last night. They make a compound that will stop gas leaks, go to your parts store and ask them. Randy rradabah 01-01-2007, 12:07 AM i had the same problem, it turned out to be the o-rings on the water fuel seperator were bad. i had them replaced at a shop for $150.00. on ebay i found the o-rings for $5.00 and it came with instruction for replacement.
