82 1500dxcrxlvr 12-07-2006, 08:32 PM Hey all, ive been searching this forum and found nothing about an easy swap for this car, im all for 63hp and 77lb/ft but to move my big ass 6'1" 295lb frame around, so any options that are nearly bolt on. cvcc_wagon 12-08-2006, 12:43 PM not much, the 80-83 accord or the 80-82 prelude motors will bolt in but they still only make 75 hp. here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=335148&highlight=weber) is a thread describing the motor i build for my 83 wagon a couple years ago, he motor ended up making pretty good power in the end. all honda's 74-83 have the same engine mounts, the older ones are a little different but the the main points are the same. none of these cars were built for any real power. the american models came with an emissions head, the canadian models came without the emissions head but the motors were smaller. easy way to make a little more power, use he american 1.8l accord block and mate it to a canadian 1.6l head flat_black 12-08-2006, 08:33 PM whats the engine code for your engine cvcc_wagon 12-09-2006, 05:00 AM his will be EM1 crxlvr 12-09-2006, 09:18 AM are the accord or prelude motors you mentioned fuel injected? ive never had a carb setup before so im not all to sure on how to work on them if something goes wrong. cvcc_wagon 12-09-2006, 03:30 PM nope, FI was not available till 84 in north america crxlvr 12-09-2006, 08:48 PM well it prolly doesnt matter anymore, cuz the car i was gonna buy tomorrow, was involved in an accident, it was an 82 with only 78k, mint paint and just minor rips on the interior. the guy was asking 1000 for it, and i was gonna buy it, but now i got to see the extent of the damage to see if its still worth it. crxlvr 12-09-2006, 08:48 PM well it prolly doesnt matter anymore, cuz the car i was gonna buy tomorrow, was involved in an accident, it was an 82 with only 78k, mint paint and just minor rips on the interior. the guy was asking 1000 for it, and i was gonna buy it, but now i got to see the extent of the damage to see if its still worth it. civic_duty 01-08-2008, 07:06 PM Hey folks, I'm about to purchase a clean 82 civic 1500dx hatchback, minus the 5 speed transmission. I'm looking for the one that will bolt on, and from what I'm hearing here, anything pre-83 will fit. Before I dive in, can anyone point me to a good place to find something like this? I've been calling around here in southern Cal but so for, no luck. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!! aquarius 01-26-2008, 05:44 PM way to post on a dead thread ther bud cvcc wagon isnt even around anymore moved on from hondas great guy though cvcc_wagon 01-31-2008, 03:30 PM i'm still around soometimes :) dont knwo where to go in socal but i'd say wreckers are your best bet. aquarius 02-01-2008, 10:45 AM oh well good to see ya just know that you arent as active as before vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
