Aaron, I bet it's the DS toggle switch although hard to believe. Mine did the same symptoms for a while, then finally quit. I also had a sluggish up and down DS window motor that the dealer thought s/b replaced as well. Pried open the assembly to expose and detach the toggle (you do not have to take the DS door panel off). Took the 2-up DS toggle into the parts dept at the dealer. Begged the Parts guy to let me "try" the new 2-up toggle by just plugging it in and not finishing the assembly back into the door. He looked around, said that they don't normally let someone try something and bring it back in. I said the van is 20' away, it will take 2 minutes max which it did. Turned out my guess was correct and that is all I had to replace. The DS motor is faster than before and still the same speed after 1 yr. PS and DS windows have worked fine since. Hard to believe, but that shorting or wear in the DS toggle window switch cause both intermittent PS window operation as well as a slow up/down in the DS window speed. Let us know what you did to fix so we can all benefit. Good luck. Hope you saved your old PS window motor as a backup for future window motor repair.

... where to get a wiring diagram please
Hi Aaron,

Since you said (typed) "please" - Here is a diagram for you (and some other stuff): :smokin:

Actually it shouldn't be hard to believe that it could be the DS switch causing the problem as it also acts as a "master switch" since it can operate both sides. My '97 started doing the same exact things as the first two posters and it turned out to be the DS switch after a bunch of testing. I ended up getting a great deal from an online Chevy parts dealership and had the part in a couple of days, saved over $20 (including the shipping charges) over my local stealership's parts dept. One thing for future reference: Keep an eye on the PS switch because in both my '97s that switch went bad awhile after replacing the DS switch. Don't know if it was related to the first switch going bad or what.

I got both swiches today and believe it or not it was the ps side switch first i tried the ds and it still didn't work then i tried ps side and it worked with both new and old ds switch. That kinda makes sence bc she delivers mail from the ps side in snow and rain so it probably gets wet more often

Great news. Hopefully you can return the DS switch. If not, you will probably need it anyway in the next 2 yrs.

 so true... Keep it in your glove box along with spare brake and taillight bulbs, fuses, and the extra set of intake gaskets w/ bolts that you'll probably need in the future for the Venture. It reminds me of when I owned a couple of Fords :yikes: 20 years ago. I had to keep extra starter solenoids, starters, battery post cleaner, and timing chains on hand to keep them running. And a friend who owned a bunch of old Dodges kept spare ballast resistors in his glove box in case of emergency. It seems every vehicle has it's own "LIST".
