I don't know of a fix except to replace it. To remove the transmission lever knob first use a small screwdriver to pry out the overdrive button from the knob and then remove the retainer clip from the back side of the knob. It is in the slit on the back side of the knob just below the OD switch. Push in the range selector button (broken part) and lift off the knob. Someone may tell you to push in the selector button andjust pull up hard on the knob without removing the retainer clip. That may work but it isn't the recommended way to do it!

I also have a '94 tbird and have just experienced the same thing and was coming on the site to find out what to do and found this thread!! So, I am going to do what '97 bird says, as I have been on the site many times and have seen alot of '97 bird's postings and have agreed with the ones I knew and have faith in the ones I didn't. Thank you for the information!

i had the exact same thing happen, every time i prked the car it would pop out and i'd have to find the button on the floor before i could leave it wasn't very cool.... anyways i ended up getting a new knob from the local junkyard, there usually i good amount of busted up tbirds there that are good for odds and ends parts like that
