Hello everyone,

I have a problem in that sometimes and very sporadic my headlights will go off and so will the fog lights and then out of nowhere they both go back on. I've been able to tell this (you might wonder how I see this while driving) by the fog lights led on the switch going off and when I'm driving the headlights going off are also noticable. Fog lights are new as of a year ago. I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting this.

Is this a problem with the head/fog lights?
Is this a wiring issue?
Is there a fuse that needs to be checked?

Thanks,

Rob

Make sure all fuses are in tight... I dobut its that tho....

Sounds like a connection/switch.... I'd think a bad connection to a switch or even lights... Or a break in a wire could make it touchy... Test the switches also to see if they are goin bad....

EDIT: You dont have auto lamps do you???

Thanks for the reply! I'm thinking of going to the dealer so they can run a computer diagnostic on it (as my mechanic doesn't have a proper diagnostic machine), this problem with the wiring or whatever is happening should get picked right?

Sounds like the switch is bad and overheating.

Check your multi-function switch (turn signal/wiper/brights) and the pigtail that plugs into it. I had to replace both on my '93 even after the dealer replaced it (factory recall)

had the same problem on my '93 - OEM fog lights overloaded the switch - which wasn't rated for it - dealer replaced it under extended warranty...
