1998 CR-V cruise control doesn't workchristopher777 11-29-2006, 08:10 PM Greetings. I just bought a '98 CR-V/5 speed, and my cruise control doesn't work. I tested it on my 10 hour treck to get it home, and I could occasionally hear a slight clicking noise when I engaged the master switch and then hit the "set" button on the steering wheel. However the green light never illuminates on the instrument panel. The fuse in the indoor panel seems to be fine; I swapped it with another 7.5A fuse this afternoon. Any pointers on where I can start looking? Thanks. C paulbert 11-29-2006, 10:13 PM i know that on my '99 crv, the clutch pedal gets stuck sometimes which stops the cruise control from working. u could try that tareq75 12-21-2006, 12:57 AM is ur gear automatic or manual? you might need to reset the computer and check the light itself in the instrument panel before going deeper into cruise control stuff... hope 2 hear from u pal.. Good luck christopher777 12-31-2006, 04:15 PM Hi, thanks for your response. My CR-V is a manual transmission. I suspect that I've recently reset my computer; I unplugged the battery for 10 or 15 minutes last week when I replaced my spark plug wires (other issue...and plugs, distro cap & rotor...still have a check engine light that was tested, and came back relating to the spark plugs). Correct me if I'm wrong on that. I tried the button again last night on the highway; no luck. The switch lights up on the panel, but the Set button still does nothing. I occasionally hear a slight click noise, but when I lift my foot from the accelerator, it slows down. I appreciate any ideas you have with respect to that! Merci, Christopher tareq75 01-01-2007, 05:25 AM i guess this is a sign from HONDA... TAKE ME TO DEALER!! :) you need to check ur engine for error codes.. its better to be safe than sorry i guess... LSC9901 01-01-2007, 10:54 AM May sound stupid but are you sure all your lines are properly connected ??? Just a thought before you run to the dealer and pay them a fortune to do the same thing. I also found that any pressure at all on the clutch disables the cruise control. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
