Hello I am new here so go easy.
Have 93 with 126+k,
did some maintenance, exhaust from cat back, windshield, changed vacuum hose on pipe on intake as rubber had corroded.

Was operating fine until hard to start then no start at all.
checked Neutral safety switch.
Mechanic changed Crank position Sensor (CPS) still no go.
He did try to due diagnostic with plug in port and he could no get any readings form the computer. He also noted that the engine light would not come on.
Jeep then pushed to side till I figure out where to go from here.
Any Ideas appreciated.

The CHECK ENGINE light not coming on is a common sign of a bad CPS, but it could also be caused by a bad PCM (computer), I would suspect the computer failure because of the non communication with a scanner.

Have your mechanic check the 8volt supply from the PCM computer to the CPS to confirm PCM OK. If no voltage check sensors/wiring for shorts. The 8volts feeds the CPS, Camshaft potion senor & Vehicle speed sensor.

At key on (not all the way to cranking) listen for the fuel pump. It's just like a 1 sec burst. A flakey PCM won't fire the pump right at key on.

If it doesn't, try waiting it out, sometimes up to 15/20 min. Leave the key on and don't crank it till you hear the pump go.

No codes with the 3x key on/off sequence?

I paid $220 for a reman Cardone brand at Advance last year. I know you can do better but sometimes it's time factor. Troll ebay if you can wait.

Make sure you get the right one. Get the number off the one you have.
