97 tbird tranny Q????

i just bought a 97 t bird 4.6L fully loaded. my question is it just started stuttering right before it shifts last night, today on the way to work it has gotten so bad that i couldnt get it to go above 35mph at one point. i stopped put it in nutueral revved it up to 3000rpms put it back in drive and then no more prob for about two miles. im not very good at sensor chaising, im into old school three wires and a gas line. IM LOST PLZ HELP

ok i dont know if i am even in the right place but could this be the trottle position sensor? it has new plugs and wires. im shoting in the dark here guys, the only things that i can think of is the tps, fuel filter, or something like that
