ok guys, have any of you had problems getting smogged. I went there today and they told me they can't do a smog check because i have an "altered air filter". But what i have is an aem cai WITH, of course, the carb approved sticker showing that it is legal in all 50states. he told me i should go down the street to arco, and i did & passed. so why was the guy at speedee being a bitch about it??

i never paid, but thats not the point. all he did was pop the hood, and say he wouldnt do it. but why pay bigger bucks for legal parts if they still wont do it? what if i already had headers on, thats alot of work taking it off and then back on the next day, just to get smogged. these idiots are defeating the whole purpose of companies making their products legal.

i called aem and asked where i could find info on proving the legality of the intake. when i told the guy what happened, he said "hell no" the shop has no right to do that. went on telling about how much effort and money is put into making aem products carb exempt.
